  • "scores" are muliples of 20. "Dozens" are multiples of 12.

I've always thought it would be good for branches to cut their hours during the week and then open on Saturday. People free during a weekday tend to be free during several other weekdays whereas my local bank is never open when I'm off work.

E.g. open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

At the risk of taking your flippant post too seriously, the terms aren't being used interchangeably and refer to different numbers - it's scores of branches (94) that will have their opening hours cut and a smaller figure (said to be dozens) down to 2/3 days a week....
  • If 240 branches were affected both terms could be correct!! :p
  • None of my local ones are affected. The South East isn't even listed.

No TSB local to me, but another major bank is it closed all day Thursday and half day on Wednesday, no one around here seems to mind or they have adjusted their banking needs to suit the opening hours. We do have one other bank that opens 'normal hours'

Considering my local post office is open 7am-6:30pm Mon-Sat and another one in the area is open 7am-10pm seven days a week I wouldn’t be all that concerned if my local bank went part time, I already use the PO for almost all banking as it’s more convenient time wise and parking wise.

All the oldies who use branches are all retired anyway so they can go anytime during the week ;)

There is one in Oxfordshire (Burford), listed under "Cotswolds & Wye". Interesting though that some of these affected branches are said to have had increased counter use, albeit small.
