“No Stopping” PCN

I've always wondered how a Parking Charge Notice could be issued for a No Stopping contravention ... stopping isn't parking.

You would have to stop to read the sign that says you can't stop.
Otherwise you might be driving without due care & attention
Oxymoron springs to mind, 2nd & 3rd syllables particularly applicable to theses delightful companiesPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA

Unfortunately I’ve become part of the problem rather than part of the solution and just paid it. On balance (and the fact it was in the mrs name) the work required to fight it wasn’t worth the value of the ticket. Still going to write to my mp though.
Thanks all for your replies0 -
I like the fact that you updated, so many threads are left hanging.
Real shame you paid though, there were so many things that pointed towards a successful outcome without too much work.0 -

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for meYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Try as much as I can, I can never understand paying these scams except when a PPC offers £15-£20.
Paying them sponsors the scam and actively funds them.
If no-one paid them, these firms would die.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Quotes like that always seem quite arrogant to me especially considering how these scammers you have just supported take money from people that really cannot afford it.
Also, it doesn't seem to matter about all the people on here that have wasted their time helping you?0 -
I appreciated your sentiments despite it’s condescending tone. The past you highlighted, whilst you may not agree, is succinctly true. At the moment work commitments do not allow me hours to look online for a suitable response to POPLA. The monetary value of my time fighting the charge is not a cost benefit to the time I would loose at work. Also the fact it is in my wife’s name has hindered me, so that has to be taken into consideration.
Please don’t think this is in anyway an apology, but whilst I don’t life in a perfect world I do live in a realistic one.
Once again I’d like to thank all that replied0 -
But you sponsored the scam. People who pay, join them and fund the scammers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A realistic world where you did nothing wrong, and support a scam, which hurts those less fortunate than you.
If your time is so precious and you have money to throw around why did you bother coming here, you are the very reason these scammers exist.
But never mind have a glass of wine and move on!0
