Neighbours rotary washing line hindering our house sale

I have visions of it being a wonky, rusty saggy line, that's left up when not in use, with pegs still attached.
It may be new, vertical, collapsed and covered (when not in use) line.

Oh dear...my pegs may still be attached to mine...
but on the plus side its collapsed and in the back garden.

If the property has no back garden then it is probably more in with fitting with the neighbourhood (and obviously not for you).
That touches on a very relevant point, the rest of the neighbourhood is a factor here.
If there are other properties in the immediate vicinity with lines in the front garden too, this one won't make much difference, but if it's the only one and sticks out like a sore thumb (which was my initial assumption) it definitely will.0 -
Just because a tenant has a washing line doesn't mean they use it...this tenant is clearly one of a kind!

You find a place without a neighbour who dries their clothes outside. Congratulations.
You move in.
The week later, they install a washing line in the front garden.
What would you then do?
Personally i wouldn't have been looking in an area where this type of home owner lived in the first place.0 -

Fairly standard that a house next to house that only have fronts you are going to get "garden" activities on the front.
Where I used to live there was a trend for "cluster" houses where they build a block of 4 one on each corner every one got a corner patch outside where they would sit, BBQ and dry washing.
That's how it works, any covenants the builders put on were for their benefit while selling the estate once off site they did not care.

There are many things that put people off a house. We all have a long list of these things.
On the other hand, no matter how abhorrent you find any particular displeasing "feature", others might light up with delight....
I feel your pain as it's a fear of yours, I was in a similar situation regarding viewings and something that displeased me .... for me though, I was "saved" as my nuisance moved away. Maybe yours will shortly too....0
