You find a place without a neighbour who dries their clothes outside. Congratulations.
    You move in.
The week later, they install a washing line in the front garden.

    What would you then do?

Weep! Same if someone mends rusty cars on their drives.

Well I guess then it would be up to me to ensure the covenant is enforced?

Assuming this is serious then ask her nicely to trim her bushes at the front and make sure there's some prettier clothing on the washing line.

Make sure you use the plural when you speak to her!

You have no power to enforce it, bar making the beneficiary aware of the breach.

So where do we stand on...

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to do a few jobs on some of the old cars...

Actually those wouldn’t bother me as they would hopefully be taken in at some point. Thinking on the rotary line, f it were collapsed once washing dried, it probably wouldn’t bother me that much either.
Have to say, first impressions count and if it’s one of the biggest investments i’ll ever make, it want it to be right.

At that point may have to put up with it and expect the worst is yet to come:rotfl:.

Again it is like if you knew the neighborourer was a murderer, you probably would be put off. But at the same time, you may find out they are one after you move in. Doesn't change the fact that it is something that puts people off.
  • You could pay some local kids or some off the next estate to steal her washing. That'd definitely make me buy an indoor airer!

Have you considered there may be other reasons why people don't want to buy ?

More like if you want her garden improved for sale then ask and do it yourself.

Does she put the line up when not in use. Maybe buy her a nice cover as well.

Surely worth it to get a sale and avoid a dispute?
