Sun Tube Skylight - Is it worth it?

Hi guys,
Has anyone ever installed a Sun Tube Skylight into their home?
Basically I have a pitched roof and a small back room that has little to no light, I also have no electric in this room. So I came across these: https://www.theskylightcompany.co.uk/acatalog/Pitched-Roof-Application.html
I have looked at others from big names like VELUX, but I just like the look of the glazing part on these ones (The bit thats on the roof itself)
But my question is, Do they work? How much light do they give, I know this can be different depending on the application but has anyone had experience?
I am still also stuck what I could do for light at night time!
Thanks for any help!

Yes, they work - or at least the one I have works. It is not the same make as your link but is basically a polished tube that connects the roof fitted lens to the bathroom fitted "light". Even now after 10 years of having it in the internal bathroom, we sometimes leave the room and try to turn the light off!0

Thats amazing! Thats what I wanted to hear!
Do you remember if you had the flexible type tube or the rigid tube? As I read up that the rigid type tubes do tend to give off more light, but they are more expensive. Please say flexible! Lol

Saw a TV programme and the skylights worked a treat.0

This YouTube video has some before and after shots of a kitchen with two sun tubes installed:

They make a big difference. The video also shows you how to fit the Velux model a flexible tube. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
We've got a Velux one fitted in a dark corridor. Its ok, and it makes a difference, but its not amazing.
Ours is the flexible type and has a slightly contorted fitment through the beams in the attic
I think I had unrealistic expectations that it would be just as good as a window.
I'd still rather have it than not have it though0 -
My parents have got one in a dark corner of their house. It was already there when they bought the house, so I've no idea how much it cost. But it's surprising how much light it gives, even on quite a dull day - I was pretty impressed the first time I saw it. They are in a bungalow, so I guess it's quite a short run from the roof to the ceiling of the room - how much of a difference that makes, I don't know.0

Yes, I have one in an internal hallway and it works great. Definitely worth it.0

We have two sun tunnels from https://solarspot.co.uk/ (other companies are available I’m sure!) and they are pretty impressive. Would definitely recommend the product - bright daylight in a windowless room and a dark corner of the kitchen.0

i'm sure it varies greatly area to area but roughly how much does it cost to have a sun tunnel fitted in an upstairs and downstairs room please? i live in the south east.
many thanks.0 -
