site the NEW parking act , and point out this us NOT in force yet - as they will simply reply , "the company will comply with the act , they do on other sites"
print out some daily court lists , and antisepsis that the company's MAIN income is by going to court , thousands and thousands of times a week
anyone given a ticket now WILL be pursued to court
get them to hold off hiring any company until 6 mths after new act comes into force
remind them that parking co,s do not work for nothing , charging housing assoc for signs @ £20 each , will not cover parking Co s costs , there main income id by ISSUING tickets , not in helping with parking0 -
Good post from Fruitcake
From experience I suspect the HA are caught in the middle of some residents wanting something done about the awful parking and people like the OP. Bit of a no win, to be honest.
They may well have turned to the fire service to get some support for one view or the other. Personally, if I was the HA, I'd turn up to the meeting with x million copies of the fire service's advice (assuming, of course, they have it).
Again, as others, I do think going in with a positive attitude and some possible solutions is good. Usually, people turn up moaning like crazy but when asked what they would do to solve the problem they either go silent or tell you (in this case as a director) it's up to you to sort it out.0 -
Just done a Streetview drive around on your estate, it does look like a couple of idiots parking without any thoughts for anyone else will have caused this, but as usual the stupid developers are the overall cause of the problem by building bottle necks.
How a car parked in one of these restrictions with a PCN on the windscreen would help a fire engine get through is another question though.
If the introduction of a PPC does stop the inconsiderate parking their revenue stream will dry up and they will then invent other rules and problems for you it won't end with the possible relief of the access problem.
Yep
I agree with this.
It, certainly, looks from StreetView that you'd only need a couple of selfish clowns to cause an obstruction. There may well be an issue with waste collection, too. Our bin men are pretty good but it doesn't take much for them to decide they can't get in. Where my partner lives (small narrowish street) the bin men often can't clear the bins because of idiot parking.
There are some good non PPC solutions on this thread. Definitely worth airing at the meeting0 -
Good - well done for being so proactive against this scam.Notting hill wants CPM UK Car Park Management to operate in our area without letting residences know about it. they giving us one permit per house most houses have 2 or 3 cars per house.
Like me most residence unhappy about it I made petition more then 30 houses and flats signed it
You DO NOT want the likes of UKCPM (ex-clampers) anywhere near your home.
Good call in the advice above, to print out the daily court list to show that this lot sue people for fun. Hand that round to neighbours as well as those running the meeting.
Plus print off a Parking Prankster blog or two about UKCPM suing residents/visitors, to prove this happens all the time, and is normal for the, just in case someone says the court lists could be anything (pay & display car parks, I think not, with UKCPM!).
Plus Google, print off and read Kettel v Bloomfold, and understand some legal articles about that case, do some Googling about it. the point being, you said the problem was the MA had stopped people parking in a place they used to park, and that by reopening the area as a road, parking would not be a problem.
Guess what Kettel v Bloomfold is all about!Solution would be there is land which used to be road but they blocked now nobody can use it they can build car park spaces 30 cars can fit in there so people can live in peace.
Finally, present your solution, and hand out Kettel v Bloomfold, and tell the MA that you will all sue them for the loss of amenity of the road they blocked if they refuse to return it to the residents for parking and instead restrict you to permits that are unworkable.
If UKCPM are at the meeting, disagree with every word they say. No being polite. Boy I would not be able to bite my tongue, I can tell you! A scam company as outed in Parliament (the whole industry was outed as operating 'an outrageous scam') and they are currently being investigated too:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-47610228
Print that out too! It's just one example of what this firm's ticketers do to people.
Also print out the 2nd February 2018 Hansard Parliamentary debate about the Parking Bill, where it was said that fining residents & visitors was an outrageous scam.
I do not agree that your estate needs parking 'management' at all. It doesn't.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Court listings appear in this link every court working day:
https://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/parking-court-case-daily-listings/
It changes each day, so you need to take a screen shot, or copy and paste the list to a Word document. Once the day is over, that list disappears and the following day’s list appears.
Case examples:

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
