Tenants without shower for 3 days

  • Put this another way. You buy your own house, and pay for a shower to be fitted in the bathroom. Some time later, the thermostat (or whatever) fails and you call out the repair chappie - who says that he will have to order the part you need and that it will take 3 days.

    Who would you blame then?

That's up to the owner and it's a risk you take as an owner. Maybe you can make a claim on your house insurance. I don't know and who cares. And that's because it has nothing at all to do with what you would do with your shower. Or how often you bathe. It's to do with what you are paying for. By all means as a landlord tell the tenant that they might only be able to use the shower twice a week and otherwise they can have a flannel wash  but that's never in a write up.

If you ate a dodgy meal you had cooked, your fault. If you ate a dodgy meal in a restaurant their fault (irrespective of whether you are happy to throw up in a bucket for a week without a problem).

    Absolutely!
  • I don't know whether sarcastic is the right word ... anyway, never mind.

    (Too) subtle sarcasm ?
  • Hey ho what's this? 3 pages in and not one poster has mentioned com-pen-say-shun. You're losing your touch people! Any suggestions what the OP should demand?

A free pack of wet wipes - perfect for a (one off, or 2 morning) wash.
  • The op should have access to a shower. Perhaps go to the landlords house? Or will that put the landlord out?

Yes, as was pointed out in the very first reply, it's not usually too difficult for people to find alternative showers if they want to. I don't see the big deal.
