Tenants without shower for 3 days

Op don't ask questions like this - your responses will all be about what others find acceptable and not what you expect. Your home, your expectations, don't take into account washing, going without it any other 'owner occupier' nonsense0

Of course owner-occupier considerations are relevant since they set the benchmark for what is "reasonable".
In this particular case it seems reasonable that the other shower room should be fixed first, but if this were the only shower then three days would not be an unreasonable repair time for a full refurb.0 -

What an owner occupier will put up with, when they are not directly paying for something, is not comparable. A tenant is paying for a shower, just as you pay for other services. I don't think it's fair, but agree it's not illegal. However comparing to what an owner might put up with us immaterial.0 -
I only shower once a month. Therefore you should too. None of this 3 days makarky. Anyone would think you were paying for a working shower! You should do as I do! That's the benchmark!!!0

It is not a question of what they will put up with, it is what is reasonably achievable using tradespeople on the open market, ie the same market which exists for owner occupiers. Landlords do not possess some superpower which can get things done quicker than owners.0 -
So you want a law that a LL has to evict if they need to repair a bathroom, most houses only have one.0

Illegal in the sense that it goes against the Landlord and Tenants Act 1985. 'First world expectations' you mentioned are irrelevant to the point.
Use some common sense. If there was only one bathroom and it went out of service due to something going wrong, did you honestly think it would mean a landlord was doing something illegal?
The landlord has provided the amenities, the law isn’t to do with having a 100% uptime of said facilities for obvious reasons as things might need to be repaired.0
