thanks pdel61 for that!
i had trouble when i first joined ebay, sellers don't want to sell to a newbie!:T Thanks to all lovely MSE'rs - you are great friends :T0 -
For what it's worth, the phone was sold for over £300.
After getting contact details from Ebay he phoned the number supplied.
An old gent answered who knew nothing of any mobile phone purchase.
He has left his number with the old boy just in case his grandson used his computer to buy it.
It may be unfortunate but sellers are reluctant to sell to new ebayers for a reason, it isn't out of spite.
Sorry to burst the bubble but the world isn't an honest place.0 -
run a mile from it, my own personal experiences are do not post that phone at any price,
or if you like tell them you have posted it but then leave it at least 5 days before you do actually post it....once they think the phones on its way i would not be at all surprised if they dont reverse the payment themselves, as happened to me :mad:0 -
He is going to hold on to it unless he hears something back from the guys number.
I would be surprised though, if the paypal addy is confirmed, doesn't that mean it is the registered address of the card?? if that is true, how could it be his grandson (unless he lives with him of course).
Im sure pdel61 would have posted it by now!0 -

theres no way i would send that 300 quid phone to that buyer. not a cat in hells chance.
ask him to do a bacs transfer or a PO.
or tell him its broken or lost or stolen or anything. or just refuse to complete and take the possible neg FB.Get some gorm.0 -
I must admit I am surprised at the amount of comments in defence of the Buyer.
He has asked on another forum and it too, is riddled with people giving the buyer the benefit of the doubt (although they don't see why there is any doubt!!)
Just shows how people do get stung so often.0
