No, potentially up to 50 other households. Have a read here:No only other half

Slow internet question one i always ask is it me or the ISP .
Check incomming speed at the master socket or router .
Slow check IP profile .0 -
So what is your IP Profile .0

You might have done a speed test but proler diagnostics is the next step.....as already hinted at in earlier posts!!
The 'problem' could be with your internal wiring, wifi connection, line noise, contention, source or intermediate servers/system busy etc.
Start by looking at your router stats for broadband performance (noise margin leve!s, real connection speed etc.) and post on here. That will split the system between house/line and more djstant (physically/electrically) issues.0 -

Also I presume there's some way to get a look at what the router's seeing in terms of noise margins; gather that data and post it up to the "BT community" (BT forums) - someone there may be able to give you more specific help: https://community.bt.com/
Yes I am plugged into the back socket (Engineers test socket)0 -
That means your line is degrading speed due to probable line issues .
Contact your ISP >. warning if problem is inside home past master socket and your fault . BT OR charge up to £175.0 -
Check the router stats.... https://kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php
Check the noise margin and attenuation as well as sync. Post them here.
A 2Mbps profile sounds suspicious to me as there is still a fixed 2Mbps profile available and you may have somehow been put on that while the line can support better.
I forget this stuff now as it is ages since I was on ADSL but from memory if you are showing a 2Mbps sync and a high noise margin (well over the normal 6dB) then your sync is being artificially limited by a fixed 2Mbps profile.0
