I charge mine for half an hour every night when I go to bed. As it has fast charge it is usually somewhere around 90% before I put the light out. I would never leave it changing overnight. On occasion I have done this with an iPad if the charge is particularly low, due to the age and a half that they take to charge up. My OnePlus 6 phone never, though.
Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.

I've had my Samsung S6 for 3+ years and have always charged it overnight with no problems. Originally, it was connected via USB to its original charger, and latterly I found out that it was wireless-compatible and got a cheap wireless base from eBay.

Disabled fast charging from new and always charged wirelessly. Slower but battery stays cool.

Always left on the wireless charger on bedside cabinet.
