That 13 page POPLA appeal is likely to see MET give up, IMHO. :)

Only submitted a week or so ago, so still awaiting response.

The NTK was POFA non-compliant though, so expect them not to focus too much on all the other points I included.

Hi all, I won my POPLA appeal!

After my initial appeal, they asked me for driver details- to which I responded with the following:

"I note your NTK letter does not comply with POFA 2012, and you are therefore unable to pursue payment from the registered keeper of the vehicle. Nor am I able to divulge the details of the driver of the vehicle. I therefore request you cancel this PCN to save us all a lot of time. If you are certain you wish to pursue the driver for payment, some people believe that God resides a little bit in all of us, so you could therefore tenuously argue that God was the driver of the vehicle on the date in question. I am unsure of his/her address, but you could try “God, Heaven, H3A V3N” (that is just a guess though!). Otherwise there will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn"

Which was obviously rejected (I am saddened that the humour didn't get me a cancellation personally- would have made for a better story!).

I appealed to POPLA using the following appeal:
    hxxps://drive.google.com/file/d/1HwItkptsXA1cpT5Ux2dGJDBVQlynbVeW/view?usp=sharing

Today, POPLA emailed me saying MET have decided not to contest the appeal.

Never did I think an issue which should have been sorted with a bit of basic common sense would take a 5000 word legal essay to get dismissed!

That said- I am really very appreciative to all the regulars on this thread for the help you give to everyone! With that in mind, I would like to donate some of my 'saved' pennies to a good cause of the regulars choosing. Coupon-mad, Twhitehouse,Redx,Beamerguy, Umkomaas, Fruitcake, The Deep, etc do any of you have a personal charity you would appreciate a donation towards? (otherwise I will send it off to Shelter).

Many thanks from a successful registered keeper

    Well done, excellent result. :T

No one expects any form of donation to be made, we are just happy to help where we see unjustified harassment from private companies masquerading as 'car park management providers'. But if you do wish to make a small charitable donation my choice would be Cancer Research. See what others say, then go with the majority. If you still feel you want to support Shelter, then that too is fine by me.

Just glad you've got the Met monkey off your back!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I've said before, the charity close to my heart is Cancer Research UK. It would be wonderful if anyone wants to donate who has been helped by me (or by Umkomaas, clearly suggesting the same charity).

Glad to read that you won, as expected but great to see it worked again!

Donation made. As someone whose job is the R&D of cancer drugs- great choice!

    Nice. Thankyou. :)

Two of my studenty/adult kids have also worked in R&D of drug trials in grad schemes, and one of them currently works in the Cancer Research field right now. But I also have family reasons (like most people do) for that charity meaning something to us.
