Argos Ebay faulty item - Uncontactable

I don't know if anyone can suggest anything, but I'm stuck with an Ebay purchase.
In Sept 2019, I bought a Gaming Headset for DS. It had a 12 month warranty on the listing which prompted me to buy. It cost £17.
The headset has since become faulty, it sometimes only plays through the left ear and it is very quiet, also the button does not work anymore so the headset won't turn on.
The seller was Argos on ebay, and I've tried contacting them through ebay, but get a message saying:
"Unfortunately, due to the high volume of messages this seller has received, they are unable to respond to your question right now. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing".
I've tried to contact them quite a few times over the last few weeks but get the same message.
Ebay chat was useless and just said contact the seller or involve the police lol.
I've tried contacting them through one of their live listings but get the same message.
Maybe I should just wave byebye to the £17, and never buy from Argos ebay again.

Do their listings not include business contact details? There’s a legal obligation to provide this information.0

I emailed them and got this straight away.
“This email address isn't monitored, please contact us via the eBay messaging system.
Regards,
Argos on eBay Team”
Looks like they don’t allow buyers to contact them in any way. Very poor.
Only other thing I could try is a physical letter to their contact address on eBay, but that would probably be wasting my time and money too.
I won’t be buying from their eBay shop again. At least you can return high street store purchases.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
You could try visiting an Argos store and asking how you get in touch with the eBay Argos team.0

Hi Fuzz ,
Did you pay with credit card or Paypal? Is it too late to try Paypal about this? Maybe the card provider could help or intervene? Worth a try. Also as another poster has said speak to Argos HO or regular CS because this online behaviour can't be right and i'm sure they wouldn't want their reputation spoiled. It seems they're behaving in a very dodgy way by being so evasive and not even responding and as a long standing and loyal customer of theirs i'm sure you don't expect to be left out of pocket and disappointed etc. by faulty goods. If none of that works it may even be worth going to trading standards as a point of principle because they're behaving in a shady way. If their ebay outlet is to just offload shonky goods without a right of return they surely have to state that somewhere!!
Anyway i hope something i've suggested can help you.
Have a lovely Easter

Just had another couple of ideas;
The fact that they've offered a 12 month warranty as part of the purchase with your item and now you can't invoke that could mean the item isn't as described??
Also I think the consumer law says something along the lines that faults which appear in 1st 6 months after purchase are deemed to be manufacturing fault whereas faults appearing after you have to prove it.
So by them not having a contact point is surely an infringement of your consumer rights too?

Online communication for Argos on eBay has been non-responsive for a long time, and this has been documented all over the internet.
No issues with telephone communication, though, and the phone number is displayed on every single listing, 033 3335 9944.0 -
I got a response (2 years ago) from a complaint with Argos which I pursued through Resolver. Worth a go there - they were quite responsive.
