I’ll be flying out to Olu Deniz on Saturday so I’ll post back after my holiday and let you know how I found it.
My boss has been a few times with his family and absolutely loved it. Hopefully the weather will be nice forecast predicts plenty of sunshine :j.
You will love it too, it's our favourite place. Fabulous food, friendly people, never once been hassled by anyone there, the market in Fethiye is where to go if you like hassle ! But it's all good natured hassle, they want you to buy what they're selling, don't go if you don't like to haggle. Olu Deniz is a beautiful place, gutted we aren't going this year but we will be back again next year.0 -
:rotfl:Your words will haunt me when I'm there in a few time.
:rotfl:
Indeed.
They would saunter off with a 'you buy tomorrow' over their shoulders.
Me: No
'next week. OK'
Me: No
'maybe before you go home. OK'
Me: No
'when you buy?'
Me: Never.
They'd still be there at the side of my sunbed the following day, unwrapping their sarongs, beads etc.
I was very friendly with the sellers on Negombo beach in Sri Lanka.
I used to take my old clothes and sometimes some stuff I bought from charity shops and I'd go down to sit with them under the trees and watch them fall out over dresses and sandals.
They used to covet my beach dresses & sandals and I've had to walk into the hotel on my last day, barefoot and wrapped in my towel as I'd left everything except my bikini with them.0 -
Fethiye is, as others have said, a nice town.
You will get people offering to sell you stuff but they are unlikelyto be agressive, and will mainly be focused around the more touristy areas.
There are lots of appartments available to rent if you want salf catering - do a bit of research to see where they are, in comparison with the town centre and waterfront. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
I have been to see Ephesus and other sites, not interested in beaches or bars really.
Had a good experience but would not set foot in the place anymore, as long as the Sultan/dictator Erdogan is in power. He is despicable. But that’s my decision.0
