Describe what is happening would be a start

Perhaps giving your post a meaningful title might bring the people who know XP and Itunes, MSN issues in.

    Ouch, harsh but good advise.

I'd say that if you've just installed Service Pack 2, that your computer is a malware, spyware and virus infested putrid pile as you've obviously not bothered with the plethora of security updates issued over the last 18 months or more.

Anyone who doesn't keep Windows up to date should be as it's their PCs that are usually the ones responsible for the tons of SPAM, Botnets etc.

In fact I can pretty much guarantee that many of the computers used in the DDOS attack on this very website were those not kept up to date with Windows Update.

Perhaps the comments are a bit on the harsh side

    - BUT -

The problems stem from the fact that Microsoft stopped supporting machines that did not update to SP2 a long time ago - so anyone who does not run SP2 as a minimum DO NOT get updates and hence are extremely vunerable to Malware, Spam, Virus, Bots, etc...

SP2 installation requires a clean machine to start with - if there is ANY infection whatsoever, then the likelyhood is that SP2 installed has not completed successfully.

Spobby - did you thoroughly check and are 100% certain that the machine was clean before installing SP2 ??

ANYONE who is running XP without SP2 is a security threat to everyone else due to the nature of bots and DDOS attacks

    - no excuses -

GET YOUR MACHINE UP TO DATE

    lol - ok rant over.

Word to the wise ... if a computer is suspected of being infected with malware of any kind NEVER install SP2. It won't install correctly on an infected machine and the user will end up in a worse state

Fix the malware THEN install SP2.
