Elite management - late back to vehicle - charge issued

Hi Everyone,

I used a carpark locally today which is a good 20 minutes walk from the centre of the town but is cheaper than the NCP ones so worthwhile.
I paid for 3 hours and I went into the town with my 6 year old son to get some shopping.
Due to numerous hold ups in the town and then my son severly dragging his feet all the way back I arrived back at my vehicle 30 minutes late and 4 minutes! after a ticket / receipt was issued.

I have received a printed receipt type ticket with my vehicle details on and an offer to pay a reduced £60! fee instead of £100 if I pay within 14 days.
I accept that I was late back but this charge is excessive and I would happily cover the extra cost of another ticket to cover the extended time in the space. Car park was only half full so it wasn't as if I was taking any income away from the owners.

I can scan in the ticket and display it, minus my details on there.

Just wondering what is recommended to do next? I was going to accept it and pay early but having read up on Elite Management I am now tempted to sit and wait for some feedback.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
If relevant, In February I was declared Bankrupt if that could have any bearing on this?

Thanks.

They are banned from access to the DVLA database.

It is essential that you do NOTHING as they cannot get your name or address to contact.

Come back if you do get anything further from them.

Correct - but you shouldn’t get any correspondence, if you do, either the ban has been lifted in the past few days, or they have an underhand way of accessing data (which will cost them dearly!).

If you do get any further correspondence, do not ignore that, you must come back to this thread.

To be clear to newbies, this advice to ignore is ONLY for banned PPCs, like this bunch.

    Hi there

New to posting in threads. Please forgive. However, this is very relevant to above post.

I parked on a private parking land that this company manage with permission from the land owner as I was working in the neighbouring building - sadly I didn’t display my pass - I do of course own one.

I was issued a PARKING CHARGE NOTICE and appealed
not having read anything here at all. Now they have my name and address and want to be payed £60. I now have a POPLA code to further appeal.

I notice they are not on the BPA website - their membership number on the denied appeal letter is conveniently half printed on the bottom of the letter.

I’m approaching employer of the company to overturn
    Decision but he is dubious.

I’m unsure of what grounds to appeal to POPLA because
‘I own but forgot my pass,’ is not good enough.

Is their lack of membership of the BPA now irrelevant if they have my details? Please advise; I would be most grateful

    Thanks

Dubious about them being banned? Allegedly, Elite broke the law and I am aware (and so is the BPA) that they and a landowner are currently being sued over that! Read this thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5980722/help-my-car-has-been-towed-away-on-private-land

YOU MUST show that to the landowner and point out that Elite have lost their BPA membership but (presumably) are still carrying the logo on their signs on the land?

I don't think they will be dubious when you show them that.

Also, why don't you email Steve Clark at the BPA to ask:

    steve.c@britishparking.co.uk

'is it true what I have read on the MSE threads* that Elite Management (Midlands) Ltd are banned and are not in any ATA? Can you confirm if that is true and if so, why are they carrying your BPA logo on their rejection letter (see attached) and offering POPLA, and still have your BPA logo on their signage?'

You can then show the reply to the dubious landowner...open his eyes!! Do you think he wants to end up liable for dodgy conduct too, like the allegation v the other landowner in that thread?

No, he needs to speak to Elite and see them for what they are, cancel all outstanding PCNs and then end the contract, IMHO. I would, if I found this out about a contractor!

*Mr Clark reads MSE threads and is well aware of the circumstances...he'll reply as best he can and is one of only two fair voices we know of at the BPA.
