Anyone used Oakhouse (or Home Farm) Foods?

I've seen a local advert for a company that delivers frozen foods locally. I know someone who is not too mobile but can cook and has a microwave.
This company used to be called Home Farm Foods but is now known as Oakhouse Foods.

Has anyone used them or have any knowledge of what they are like?
I don't expect them to be the cheapest on the market but thought the convenience might might help compensate for the cost.

I know the one a friend uses is Wiltshire Farm Foods, and he's always been very satisfied, and someone who knows about services for the elderly also reckons they are very good. Not heard of the ones you mention.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I used them for 2 years after my Mum died. I was looking after my dad and I found it so easy to order a weeks meals in one go! They were delivered, put into the freezer and then used as needed. They were also good quality.
Shame is, my dad is now in care but I would willingly use them again (If I had to)0 -
Yes, I have had experience of HFF. They are complete self contained meals which can be useful for unfortunate elderly people who rely on "carers" to cook for them and don't have the sense to consider that veg/potato should be given with meat:mad:.
Weights are given for all meals so it is useful to work out which ones would suit poor appetites.
The brochures of the various companies mentioned above are very similar so I wonder if they are just different franchises in different areas?0 -
I orrder food from Wiltshire Farm Foods ( type this into google and they are top of the list) and I would recommend them, food not quite as good as home cooking but my father says they are a lot better than mealdirect from social services. I have also only just found out after 18 months of using them that they are on quidco (15%).Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave0

Like Savvy_Sue and one or two others, I also can vouch for Wiltshire Farm Foods. 2 neighbours have it delivered and can't speak highly enough of it. They've showed both the main courses and desserts to me and for the money charged it's wonderful value. I think it's wonderful that such people have thought of those who need this service, good for them and long may it continue.
Sue.

We tried one of my Mum's Wiltshire Farm Foods meals and I have to go with Geoff on this.
The ones we tried were pretty disgusting; pasta meals were the worst. They didn't microwave well, though they were a little better if you cooked them in the oven.0 -
Hi, I had a franchise with home farm foods and I lost a packet. A lot of the food is very good quality but some not so. I had 8 old peoples homes in my area and not one person wanted it. I lasted 8 months before jacking it in. Lost approx £10,000. It is a good service for people but no one wanted to try it. The customers I had did do repeat orders. I also ate the food as I wasn't selling it. I just wanted to try and offer a service that people wanted but they didn't.0

I have tried Oakhouse and Wiltshire farm foods. Whilt the service is good, they are expensive. For example a meal costs around £3.30 for 340g.
If you order directly from Tesco the meals are around £2.50 for 400g.
Iceland are even cheaper with some meals only £1 for 500g. The problem is with Iceland you have to visit their store, but they will deliver.

i have used oakhouse foods for my mother in law and she really enjoyed them. you can get smaller portions meals, but be careful because some of the meals come in containers not suitable for microwave ovens.
