my phones charging port has been pushed into the phone so far that i can barely get a cable to stay in, been quoted £40 to fix it and based on previous experiece with a tablet i'm not convinced a fix would fail.
Do these charging receivers work, this and a charging mat would be cheaper?

I don't see how a charging receiver can help. It has to be connected to the same charging port of your mobile.

Does you phone not support Wireless charging? you wouldn't need to plug any leads into your phone.
I use one on my Samsung galaxy s6 and it works fine been using it for a couple of years now.

You have to plug one end of the receiving pad into the USB port for it to work so I think you're snookered.

i think that trapping the long bit of the reciever in the phone case will
    hold it in?
Just trying to find a solution that will be more reliable than currently shouting at it until i find an angle that means it stays in place!

Impossible to say from here I'm afraid, it's up to you if you want to try it.
