Someone underneath me or downstairs somewhere smoke weed 24/7.
It must make it's way through the venting system and into my bathroom, through the cupboard there. I never get cooking smells or anything like that which is VERY strange.
They are probably smoking in the bathroom because they think the extractor system will take the smoke away. Is it one of those extractor systems that runs all the time? If so, it’s important to have trickle vents or a window open a bit elsewhere in the flat to let fresh air in, otherwise the extractor could pull in the smells from the neighbours.0 -
Thanks for the reply, the thing is that it seems to be at completely random times.
The smell hast been here in days and now it's coming in leading me to believe that someone is smoking something, as the only other smells that I get thorough he same vent are that of weed.
Surely if ti was a gap in the waste it would be relatively constant.0 -
Had exact;y the same problem in a block we lived in (council owned) and it was sometimes cigarette smoke and other times what we came to realise was skunk. The stink was usually in the bathroom, where there was a shared, low level ventilation duct (yes, I know, don't get me started on Fire safety in blocks of flats!) in the bathroom. Also seemed to be somewhere around the stairs. We reported it to the housing management company and TBH they weren't interested. We even made a formal complaint, and when we weren't happy with that took it to complaints re complaints. They just kept telling us it wasn't possible that we could smell anything from other flats. And we wonder about Grenfell.0
