Neighbours drug fumes, but no Kitchen smells? (Spice?)

I have a HUGE issues with fumes coming though the cupboard in my bathroom, it is nearly 24/7 and causes me a great deal of stress and triggers my condition to a degree where I'm completely miserable all the time inside my flat.
Someone underneath me or downstairs somewhere smoke weed 24/7.
It must make it's way through the venting system and into my bathroom, through the cupboard there. I never get cooking smells or anything like that which is VERY strange.
Two times in a few weeks there has been a really different smell coming in for a few hours. I hope to god this isn't some sort of legal high like spice (which made me have a psychotic breakdown for years when I was in a homeless shelter where people smoked it). It smells kind of oily I guess, so maybe it isn't that, what does legal high smell like these days and is it unlikely to be that considering how it's illegal now?
Regardless I feel awful because my condition has been triggered by me thinking that is is spice (maybe they ran out of their weed?) If this does happen I may be paralyzed mentally for years and I'm !!!!ing afraid of that happening.
I've asked the Landlord multiple times to block up the cupboard.
Do you think it's very unlikely to be Spice or legal highs, why do I not get any other smells but weed and that?

Maybe there's a weed farm downstairs and that's why you only smell that and no cooking?Solar install June 2022, Bath

Welcome to MSE.
There have been threads on this sub-forum fairly recently which cover surprisingly similar issues.
Random grease/dank chemical smell coming from vent in block of flats
What IS that smell from the flat downstairs?
Likely there are some older, relevant threads if you have a play with the advanced search function.
The kitchen extractor and bathroom extractor are usually ducted out separately, not least because these rooms should be in separate 'fire compartments'. Try reporting the illegal activity and possible problem with ductwork to your landlord and/ or the managing agent of the building in writing.

Thanks for the reply.
I used to be around Spice and this isn't the same smell or any where as near "chemically" or "dank". Maybe it is something else.
It's quite a nice place in a great town actually and I don't see why a weed smoker would be doing this !!!! or even bothering obtaining it.
I am probably overreacting, but OCD !!!!ing hurts so badly when it comes to these things.0 -
Things such as spice are no longer legal highs. Since 2016 they have been classified as Class B drugs0

There is not one kind of spice/ legal high, so necessarily not one characteristic smell. The cannabis is illegal so you still have grounds to report your concerns.
Many people who abuse illicit drugs and/ or alcohol have a personality disorder and/ or mental health issues and/ or personal problems. Many of us are 'self medicating'.
People use what they can get hold of or can afford on a given day or given week: different drugs or different alcoholic beverages.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Flats tend to be designed so that bathrooms are above one another.
So the toilet, bath, shower and wash basin wastes are all plumbed to one corner of each bathroom and then connected up in one long run of vertical pipe, then down underground and out to the street sewer pipe.
The pipework may be boxed in, or just sited in a recess behind bathroom furniture, like your cupboard.
It's possible that the smell you are getting is not from the flat(s) below but is leaking through a bad seal in the waste pipework somewhere. This would explain why you don't get cooking smells.
If you were a DIYer I would suggest removing the cupboard, to see what's behind, with a view to repairing anything broken or sealing off the vertical duct so that no smells get into your bathroom. Sealing the cupboard itself isn't the best solution - irrespective of the source of the smell. Too many joints to seal.0 -
Report them to the police. If the police do noting about it, go to your MP.0
