My diary: “Seasidegal's Scrimpy Retirement Diary!”
  • Wow a month away from my diary it goes fast.

Work is settling down slightly now with the new paperless system and we are getting to grips with it.

I have done 2 days in the office this week to help out with something and have enjoyed it, but also the combination of being able to do both ways of working ie home and office definitely appeals. My work are opening up more desks in work starting at the beginning of June for anyone who is desperate to go back.there . However the number will still be very limited.

My second vaccine is booked for next Saturday which I am glad about. I have now lost two stone and am feeling great. I have cancelled my gym membership and have started doing workouts in the morning bloom yo
ung ones really enjoy them and 30 mins is long enough for me . That coupled with the walking is keeping me feeling well.

A trip to Windermere has been had to visit my friend and I loved being there and of course didn't want to come home even though I was only there for the day. The weather was glorious and we were able to sit outside . A few more walks have been happening with various friends and I feel much better for seeing them.

Financially I had to buy a new washing machine which was fine the good old EF. I am having my ceiling over boarded if you remember I had a crack in it and the HA have finally been to assess it. Not sure when it will happen but probably late summer.

My GKs are all great and back into their activities after school, my DGS is playing for a football team academy now and DGD is into ballet and gymnastics. Baby is adorable and growing very fast .

    Hope all well with everyone.
I think part office and part home would be an ideal working life.
Well done on the weight loss 👏👏👏, I definitely think free exercise beats paying for the gym and it's clearly working for you.
It's great to get your second vacccine so you're fully protected.
I'm so glad you had a lovely trip to the lakes and that your GC are all well and happy.

    Have a lovely weekend  🙂.

One or two glasses of wine were had last night.

I need to decide what I can save now starting from my next salary and some new savings started. Can any of my debt free diary friends tell me what savings pots they aimed for ?
Obviously people's circumstances are different but just after ideas that I might forget.
