First Direct have been threatening a redesign, but promised "no change in how it works". On Monday we got the redesigned web site and guess what? Internet Banking now gives me a white screen on Firefox. I have tried from Linux and Windows machines with the exact same result. It seems to work with Chrome, but I don't want to swap to Chrome.

Works fine for me in firefox, using v 66.0.2 in Win 10

Edited to add: Not sure why you don't want to use Chrome, but there are, of course, many more browsers than Chrome or Firefox. I'm currently trying out a new beta of Edge (yeah, I know, Microsoft...) that is interesting, Chrome-like but not memory-hogging (i.e like Chrome was originally). It's the Dev version from here: https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download/ Off-topic perhaps, but might be worth a look (except that it's Microsoft....)

    My Firefox identifies as 66.0.2

I get the same result in Linux Mint 19.1 or Windows 7.

Firefox is set up how I like and does what I want, or it did. Why would I want to use Chrome instead?

I would be surprised if Edge worked on my Linux machines.

But in Windows 10 it works.
  • Clear cache and cookies and disable any ad-blocking software etc.

Does it work in private mode?

Ok! I wasn't suggesting you might want to use Chrome instead, I was simply querying why you won't use it for FD if Firefox won't do it. I use multiple browsers if I have to - for example I use Chrome most of the time - set up as i like it - but for some time Barclays wouldn't work on it, so I always switched to firefox if logging in to Barclays.
As for Edge on Linux, you implied you also had a Windows machine?

I see. Opening up another browser wouldn't be ideal because my usual machine is often at the limits of it's memory, but that may have to be the way forward until I upgrade.

I have access to a lot of machines but I wouldn't want to swap machines any more than I have to.

    Unfortunately that didn't help.

and it doesn't work in private mode either.

Interestingly it works on my wife's Win7 machine, so it's something very specific to my set up, I just can't see what. I've tried disabling all my extensions, but that didn't seem to help.
