Where can I get information who is the owner of the car parking spots next to my house?

Hi,
I have bought my first house recently. Next to my house are two car parking spots. The former property owner was using one of the spots. Currently, both slots are used by neighbours. Where can I check is the spots are assigned to anyone? Alternatively, where I can buy one of this spot? I have a small space in my driver way. However, it's too small to park the car on it. It's a bit frustrating. When I was buying this house I was sure one of this spot is assigned to my house. Now, I don't have really where to park my car.
Thank in advance for any help.

Was it advertised as being part of the property you bought?
Your solicitor will have confirmed on the title deeds for your property if a space was assigned to it and you owned it.
Sometimes they show up on a separate deed but again the solicitor should be aware of any second deeds.(I have a leasehold flat where the property is listed on one deed and the garden on a second, simply because it was transferred to the property after the original deed)
What makes you "sure" that one of the spaces was yours?
With regard to finding who owns them you could ask who parks there if they know?...and if the space is up for negotiation or sale...but be prepared to be quoted an extortionate price to buy it.
It's one of those things that the price will bear no relation to the actual cost because someone will know you want it!in S 38 T 2 F 50

So for clarity...
You bought the house thinking it came with a driveway and a parking spot?
You now know that it is only the driveway and no parking spot?
If you don't know for sure - The land registry should show you what land is yours. The only way of checking that Im aware of would be to get the title plans for all your neighbours and see if you can see this from there. Its £3 a pop though for every title so could mount up depending how many neighbours you have.
The alternate is that you do some door knocking to see if anyone can narrow it down for you.0 -
Look at the Title Deed to your property, and look also at the Title Plan. £3.00 each here.
That will tell you what you own.
Then do the same for your neighbours' properties.
That will tell you what they own.
If the spaces do not appear on any of the above, do a 'map enquiry' here, to see if the land is owned by someone else.
Knocking on doors and asking often works too!0 -
I am not the owner of any of the spot. I'm guessing that none of the neighbours is the owner as well. What if the spots are own by the council? Can I buy one spot? I know that it is possible to but spots on the neighbourhood from the council.0

Who says the council own the parking spaces...earlier you didn't know who owned them.
Make the correct enquiries as details in the posts above rather than making stabs in the dark at the possible owners!
Clearly you do not own the right to park there and will have to either rent or buy the space from whomever does own it.in S 38 T 2 F 50

Are you sure the neighbour owns them? Is it a question of whoever gets there first?0
-
@bouicca21 Whoever gets first then is the owner.0

I'm confused.
Either these spaces are public highway. Just ordinary parking along a road, to be used on a first-come-first-served basis, or they are privately owned land in which case they can (only) be used by whoever wns them.
It seems very unclear which!0
