TV 4 months out of warranty. Needs repair.

I bought a TV from argos December 2017. The screen has now developed patches on it that distort the images. Do I have any rights for a claim to get it repaired by Phillips /argoss ? it is just out of warranty. By 4 months .

Its a good TV. 4K HDR Ambilight so seems a shame to bin it if a repair is too costly . Any suggestions appreciated.

Google the model to see if it's got history of the same thing

Yes you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to seek a remedy of repair, replacement or partial (in this case) refund. As the TV is way beyond 6 months old the onus is on you to prove the fault is inherent to manufacture, ie, not caused by user damage, excessive wear & tear etc.

Your rights are with the retailer, and if you have paid via a credit card equally the credit card company. The manufacturer does not have any obligation to you outside the warranty.

i think Philips offer a two year guarantee on their tvs, they do from ao.com and amazon

Got my TV from currys 9 years ago and still going strong.
