Door latch has dented plaster board

If a large hole fill the depth with paper, tissue paper even, get a box of plaster filler from a pound shop, make it up so its like stiff porridge, using a scraper, fill hole then paint.
Filled a lot of deep holes in walls this way.
As advised, get door stop. It only takes a small unintentional over motion to have this kind of damage occur again. It never will if you get a door stop.0 -
I'd be a little cautious screwing in a doorstop. The LL could be petty but within their rights to insist you return it in the original condition. They could try to charge you to remove it and make good the hole in the flooring.0
