I called them yesterday they told me I had been selected for extra security checks and need to wait until 7th july. (Submitted return 11th april)

they told me the same thing. Do you know what that means? and they will send the money after that?

Hi-
My partners return this year was selected for checks due to the company he works for accountant paying the incorrect tax. 6 months tax was owed to his UTR. Repayment cancelled.
The accountant corrected it their end.
Was amended on the 8th may by a compliance officer. Didn’t update till yesterday still showing 8th may again had request a repayment, updated today bank repayment pending which was quick but with no date.
Once a repayment is pending it can be issued next day , 2-3 to be issued in most cases. I am hoping as it’s already been through the necessary checks till be issued tomorrow- wishful thinking!
All returns filled through the SAR are automatically sent for payment to be issued - which may throw up any discrepancies on the return as we had, return and repayment are then stopped for checks, to find out why or what the problem is. all returns must go through a series of automatic computer checks, which take 7-10 days that’s why we were seeing people having theirs issued on the 18th April. This Info is from the Hmrc self assessment manual and a just a little research.

Hopefully the above makes sense lol. And Hopefully we get a issued return soon.
