Tax rebate 2019

I had filled a tax return for a friend. Claimed the credit next day, and after 5 days showed in credit again. So claimed again, and after 4 days same. So contacted them through live chat, and they asked for bank details, i reckon done it manualy. But then he said that he will need to ask his tax office to check repayment claim. Maybe someone knows what does that mean? This is his first tax return filled. He is CIS based and gets paid by bacs, i reckon they want to check if he paid tax to them?0
