Im not sure i believe when you say calling them will result in an 80 % chance in security checks. I read on an accounting website that calling hmrc and enquiring about your claim and giving your personal details over the phone can actually result in you unknowingly passing security checks because your verifying yourself and letting them know its you thats made the claim.

There was posts from people last year and they were literally ringing them everyday and they got their payments in the first batch. Whether if you annoy an employee could they in theory out of malious flag you to the system? Maybe?! As i said you giving personal info over the phone is enough in their mind to prove who you are so they shouldnt be stuff like that likes its policy.

But at the end of the day what do i know i wouldnt go ringing them excessively no. Theres understandably paranoia and anxiety when waiting on our payments

Did anyone get asked for their passport number before sending return this year ?

Just to clarify, am I right in thinking the larger the amount due, the greater the chance of having to go through security checks or should it be random?
Also I use a small time accountant who submits the return with me under my name rather than as himself as he says I’m responsible for the information provided either way.
I had a great year so paid lots of tax so decided to use a large chunk of my AIA on a new van and new machines. Makes my rebate about 50% bigger than last year.

I think they only pick out 1 in 10 for a check. Hopefully we all get issued tomorrow. I just want to get off on holiday �� it needs to hurry up
