OK I have ordered a Nilfisk C120 with car cleaner and patio cleaner - from Amazon - together with a 30 metre hoselock hose for delivery tomorrow...

A new toy to play with !

I am thinking of buying a pressure washer - mainly for car cleaning and also patio cleaning

What pressure should I be looking for ?
https://www.diy.com/departments/mac-allister-pressure-washer-1300-w/1580839_BQ.prd is only 90 bars and costs just £58 - will that suit my needs ?
    It seems too cheap

Unless it's a brass head pump and at least 450l/h flow rate, I wouldn't bother irrespective of brand.

Right - so my Nilfisk c120 with a flow rate of 520l/hr meets DUTR standards ?
I am unsure about the head pump though !

Is there any point in using a patio cleaner fluid for cleaning a grubby patio or will the pressure of water be enough on its own ?
As far as I can make out - these expensive additives are pointless - if they work by chemical reaction, they won't be in contact with the surface for more than a split second !

What's the patio surface? How bad is it?

But, yes, if you've got stubborn marks that won't just wash off, it makes more sense to use a cleaner on the surface before you wash it.

No its not bad - just a bit dirty from 20 years of nothing more than sweeping - just mildewey !!
I think that the water pressure alone will improve it dramatically - and will clear out moss from the joints

On a similar note - how do the car cleaning additives (and wax) work ?
Spraying them at high pressure wouldn't be my first suggested way of applying them.....

Or 2.1KW motor, brass head pumps are more robust and the machine is quieter, the flow rate gives the cleaning ability and speed, depends how fuss free one wants to clean the car (touchless) or clean the patio, IIRC the C150 series is up there .

Very much so use a patio cleaner product , like Swarfega or deb , leave it on the surface for a few minutes then rinse away.

    There are various methods,
on a low pressure suction hose on some machines, various foam lances.
