Going to be writing an Android app. For some unknown reason the last gmail email address I used got banned. They would not tell me why. Just said the ban will stand??

That email was created to create an app and only used to install an app creator and bluestacks. No other use so puzzled as to why they banned it. App was for my own use and not for release and in no way should it be against their terms and conditions.

All it did was receive measurement data via bluetooth, send from an arduino or pi etc and show that data.

Not wanting to link my current phone number and email just in case they ban it (used for banking). App creator requires a google account and phone number verification. So i need another phone number/account.

Any free sims that dont require topup? asking too much? :)

Thanks

No there is no sims that don't need topping up at some stage because you will need to text or make a phone call every 60 days afaik thats the rule with all Payg sims.

Not sure, but the 3 Data reward sim is £2 minimum top up.

    Not correct.

Most PAYG sims require a chargeable action every 180 days (6 months) to stay active. A chargeable action is a text, call, data use or any other action that you would be charged for.

A Three Data Reward PAYG MBB sim will work without any topup as you register it on arrival which gives 200MB of data allowance each month. Using the free data allowance constitutes use to keep the sim active.

Personally I use Three Free Data Reward SIMs (as mentioned above). I have a few in my spare phones for various projects. Cost £0. You have to register to get the 200MB data every month, just use some data before 180 days to keep getting the free data. I had one SIM I forgot to use for months, it still worked but I lost the free monthly data allowance (no problem, just ordered another).

I think the OP wants a sim that will work out of the box without an initial topup for the one time validation of the new google mail account? I thin the Asda ones come with a small allowance right away?

It does, but expires after 30 days, which may be enough for the OP

Yeah its a one time create an account and verify the apps which require a lot of permissions it seems.

I think its easier to just use 2 arduino's and a small nokia screen for the display. Uses less power than a phone also, so battery life would be way longer.

Been reading up on power saving with arduino and they use very little power but removing the tiny LEDs reduces that further.

Companies just want too much personal data for my liking.

Why does a company who create app making software need access to my phones data and my phone number?

Shame i let my Orange pay as you go contract lapse, you only paid if you used the phone. Was funny when Orange used to send a 2p or 0p bill with 27p postage paid.

Thanks for the help, i may pick a SIM up if i really want to try creating an APP.

From the Terms and Conditions: ' your SIM Only Pack will be supplied to you pre-connected to the Network and will be activated the first time you use your Mobile/SIM card for a chargeable event'. Seems you have to topup and use for it to be activated. Or is the chargeable event included in an allowance which you get free?

It's included, which I guess is why it expires after 30 days, just works out of the packet
