Hello, without going into all the detail. I just wondered if someone can specifically point me in the direction of information relating to the time scales if any that govern DCA reporting defaults on a credit file.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Hi Zx
Is there a time limit as to when they can add it to a credit file?0 -
Anytime, but it should be dated within 6 months of the default.0
-
Ok thanks so much Zx just mystified how a supposed default can appear on my credit file nearly 3 years, since the DCA apparently bought the debt.0
-
They often do.
Just ask them to change it.0 -
Hi Zx sorry I don’t mean the default date itself, I mean the actual entry onto my credit file0
-
If a debt is sold to a debt collector, then the new creditor should use the same default date as the original creditor did.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Thanks Willing to learn, I am actually talking about when it appeared in credit file, the default itself was apparently 3 years ago, but the CRA only appeared on my credit file in January.0
