Are rewards only applicable to "Switching" accounts? Or can you claim rewards for new accounts please?

I doubt if there are any rewards for just opening an account, but you can open a donor account and switch that to get the reward.

Fineco bank seem to be offering a £100 refer a friend for a £1k deposit without needing to switch anything although I haven't tried it myself. More details on the referrals board.

There are some that offer rewards for all account holders, no need to switch; e.g.,

barclays blue rewards

You can get £5 for opening Monzo if someone send you their referral link. I think it was £10 on Christmas.

Also, Danske Bank will pay you £5 each month just for paying in £1200 monthly. Over a year it's like a £60 bonus. No DD requirements.
