Rijo Coffee Machine Lease

I leased a coffee machine off Rijo when i started a new business and my business didn't work out and the people who took the shop over said they would take the lease over, but sadly they couldn't get the finance and we got stuck with it and rijo (Henry Howard finance group) charge us £166 per month for 5 years and then once a year they charge me an extra £45 for admin fees even though i have never had any correspondence off them in nearly 3 years. When I asked them for a settlement figure they wouldn't knock any interest off, they know my business is no longer running are they still allowed to charge me the £28.40 a month vat? Has anybody else had any dealings with Henry Howard Finance that can give us some advice please?

If the company supplying you are VAT registered and the goods/ services attract the tax then they have no choice but to charge it.

Was your business a limited company, if so have you dissolved it?

The OP's other posts (and the five year timescale) suggest it's a personal debt rather than a limited company.

The fact the business is no longer running doesn't make a difference to whether creditors are entitled to pursue their debts. Whether they're entitled to charge what they're demanding depends on the terms of the agreement, which we can't see from here.
