If you are, and your friend agrees, take out some travel insurance and make sure it covers any mental health issues you could have while away.

I think its highly unlikely OP will get anyone to insure her for any MH related claims now, that ship has well and truly sailed.

Is there no way you could go? It would do you the world of good to get away for a while.
Hope you're soon feeling stronger xx

    Thank you for the replies.
So, you are correct I definitely cannot claim from Amex, I have no travel insurance, and the loss is now 90%, so leaving it booked, and will decide nearer time.
I’ve looked into travel insurance for those specifically with mental health issues, it is available...
I’d learnt to scuba dive to go back, so it will give me something to look forward to, although my mum has concerns about me going alone
