Kinda out of options now. I'll keep it because it's still 3% on £1500.

Can't have Nationwide FlexDirect because I've already had it and won't get the 5% again, already had accounts with HSBC, NatWest and Halifax so I can't get the cash switch again from them yet as I've held them since their date limits. I have Tesco but that's dropping. Santander have fees and it wouldn't be worth it for me. Already have First Direct.

No other decent offers about atm.

One way to maintain 5% with TSB is to open the linked 2% Monthly Saver, so you'd nearly make up the difference give or take a few pounds, over 12 months.

    On the basis that 3+2=5?

    Or have I missed something?

Have you thought of adding two Tesco current accounts at 1%? You'd get almost 7% ;)

Why stop there? Take out a payday loan and reach the dizzy heights of 1507%
  • Tesco dropping to 1%. NW dropping their regular saver. This going to back down to 3%.

Stoozing options are dropping fast. Wouldn't surprise me if the HSBC group drop their regular savers to 3% as well.

    Time for a class action.

Now who could we get to front it. Surely they don't want more customer dissatisfaction? Well they probably don't care.

I will at least be replying to the mail.

    Cheers

I have already raised a complaint with TSB, citing the email promising the 5% rate would stay, along with the BBC interview with Paul Peston. I was given a multitude of excuses as expected, but I made it perfectly clear that I would escalate this to the ombudsman if necessary.

Paul who? Hope you got his name right on the complaint. ;)

What are you seeking by way of a resolution to your complaint?...5% for ever?...5% for another few months, maybe 6-12 months?...£25 to 'go away'? The first two aren't going to happen (because there's not only you involved). The last might happen, by way of goodwill. So what do YOU want? It's a question you'll be asked so might be an idea to have an answer ready.

EDIT: In hindsight, their lawyers should have stepped in and inserted something to the effect of "for as long as the Plus account is available".
