    Good morning everyone,
    3 please Shaggy
I have been given chemical aid re sleep from the DR, they are still in the bedside drawer and I haven't resorted to taking them yet.
I believe you can face the world if you have had a good nights sleep, struggling at the moment.
Had a lovely meeting with my Macmillan Cancer Nurse who went through everything to date so far and discussed the next stage.
I found this very helpful in terms of planning, but I also felt overwhelmed with the some of the information and felt a bit down yesterday. Took me back to my Dad who died very young of this horrible disease.

On the positive I was given a lovely heart shaped "boob" cushion which gives a bit of support under your arm. Mine is beautifully made by a clever person it is pink with butterflies on it, so pleased with this.

    Arkers x

More (((hugs))) Arsenal Barnie and Arkers. It's a horribly stressful time for both of you, but this will pass. I want to add 'And all shall be well' but I find people who take things for granted a bit irritating, to be honest. If we could, we wouldn't be worried about things, after all. The curse of an active imagination.

    Re : Sleeping.

I do find now that I'm well passed 55 - I'm 57 - my sleep does seem to be improving, which is a blessing...don't know if it's just me!

I defo started sleeping better after the menopause, then slept badly while I was still drinking and when I first gave up, and now sleep very well indeed.

However, after 20 years of listening to talk radio at night, I now find it impossible to go to sleep without it, but at least I don't need to resort to chemicals because I can usually find something I want to listen to, and the more I want to hear it the faster I go to sleep. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    4/31 please, Shaggy
    Better is good enough.

So true. Every feeling that I have ever experienced has passed. Some slowly, some quickly, but they have all eventually passed.

I'm also not a fan of 'And all shall be well' either, preferring 'it is what it is'.
I cannot change other people's circumstances, but the one thing I can change is my reaction to them, and to try to be as helpful and useful as possible.
It's all work in progress though; I fall far short of my lofty expectations of myself.

My body reacts in a way to alcohol that one drink is never enough. I want to keep drinking and drinking, and cannot moderate. Thus I need to stay away from that first drink (it's the first drink that gets me drunk - if I don't have the first, I won't have the 2nd, 3rd,8th,11th)
By working on my head (and my acceptance of life being the way it is), that means that I don't feel the urge to pick up a drink because stress levels remain low. That's the way I do it anyhow...

1/18 and 1SNC please. Struggling at the moment - lots of reasons, none really valid but I will keep reading and trying.

Thinking of you both, Arkers and Arsenal Barrie. Sending thoughts, prayers and positive vibes (pick whatever you like)
