    Shaggy /4

    Anybody else?

Yes please Shaggy, put me down for 4 for this week's SNC.

Apologies for being AWOL but last week was rather social and not AF. All planned and no excesses though so I'm happy.:)

Firmly back on the wagon today and hoping for a good week.

5/10 AFDs and 1 for the SNC please.

Thanks arsenalbarnie but my veganism deserves no admiration as it's easy for me. I can honestly say in all my 27 years of being vegetarian and vegan I have never once had the same shall I shan't I going on in my head. Strange isn't it?

Maggiem I know what you mean about chocolate, that's very much like alcohol is to me.
Its great that you could drink two nights in a row then not feel like you want to on the third. This is where I want to be as well. Had my first alcohol night after 53 days without on Saturday. Then last night I didn't get the urge to drink at all and went straight back to how I was on my long run. It's so easy when the urge and those arguing voices in my head aren't there!

Cuppatea hope the sleeping returns to normal soon. I blamed alcohol on my sleep problems before but now the stress in my life has lowered I don't have a problem. I know you have been through a lot lately so hopefully that will all settle.

9/18 and 2SNC - love the Homer smiley too. Thank you Shaggy.

Green Karen - it's possible I made the third night sound too easy. I would have loved a drink of wine last night but it was also good to be not drinking. I think food and wine go really well together but can't do the just one glass routine. You and Cuppatea expressed the feelings so well about taking those first few sips, for me it's a feeling of 'phew' and relaxation, letting go of difficult parts of the day. And I suppose if I could just have a single glass that might be okay but I have accepted I can't do that (only took 20 years or so, I'm clearly a quick learner). So for me I hope to keep to not drinking 50% or so of a month and not feel the need to open another bottle at the end of the first my OH and I may have shared, I think that's ok. I can't remember who said it's about not remembering how long it was you last had a drink and I aspire to that.

Complicated business this cutting down / stopping isn't it?

    Morning all.

Glad your move is done Loveasale and you’re getting settled in.

Last day of holidays. Glad to be going home tbh. I love a few days away but ready to get back to my family and pooches. DD took them to the kennels for a couple of nights yesterday as she is working. She text me from outside saying I can’t face leaving them. She changed her mind when they both charged in barking, tails wagging :rotfl:. My younger one gets to do an agility course everyday and he loves it. It’s weird how he hates being left at home but really seems to enjoy the kennels.

Just logged onto my alcohol app. Yesterday was amber. Pleased with that. Have not been drinking at all in the day. Had the equivalent of two large glasses of red wine and a cocktail last night. That is a bit of a turnaround for me. Flying back first thing in the morning. Need to be up and out by 5am, so will go easy today too. So tomorrow back to it no alcohol and sl world plan. Have a nice day everyone.
