More *healing vibes* heading your ways, Arkers and Arsenal Barnie.Season_of_Mist wrote: »I am approaching the end of month three AF and will soon be in uncharted territory.
Huge congratulations and well done. I found the first 60 days the trickiest to navigate, and by the end of the three months I knew I didn't want to go back to my old drinking way of life at all. How are you feeling about it now?
Which brings me to this. Today it is exactly five years since I stopped drinking, and hand on heart I can truly say it is within the top three best decisions I have ever made. I'm not sure where I'd have been if I carried on drinking; probably not here, probably not with my OH (which are the other two best decisions), and definitely not a happy person. I don't miss it and I'm not in the least tempted to go back to it, ever.
I owe everyone who's ever contributed to this thread a huge thank you because without you all this thread wouldn't be what it is. Massive gratitude to you, particularly, Shaggy, for all the work you put into scoring and finding the emojis and memes that make it such a vibrant, attractive thread too. I genuinely believe I wouldn't have made it without this thread and Belle's support for the 100 Day Challenge.
I've just phoned the restaurant OH is taking me to tonight to celebrate and unlike four-ish years ago when they didn't stock any AF drinks at all, they now do. It's got a lot easier to be AF since I stopped and I couldn't be happier about it.
26/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Honey Bear, a huge 1,825 congratulations to you, one for every day you haven't drunk since you gave up :T:T:T:T:T It's such a huge achievement, well done you. I'm sure everyone is grateful for what you give to this thread, which wouldn't be the same without your wise and deep comments. Enjoy your well-earned celebration tonight xxx  (that's AF beer they've got btw)0
