Wasp nests are things of beauty - and all created by each year's colony.
Wasps are also very good for the garden - they spend all summer collecting insects and caterpillars to feed their larvae. It's only in late summer/autumn that they go for sweet stuff.0 -

.
Looks like the wasps where I live are no Leonardo Da Vinci's. The inside looked interesting from a biological point of view, but as for the outside it would not inspire any poets or artists to get out their pens or paintbrushes.0 -
I found a wasps nest last year inside my chimney getting in through the flashing. I chucked a few of those smoke pellets that you test the chimney flue with and that got rid of them without killing them. Cost a few quid from Toolstation.0

We always have a wasp nest or two around the house, it's not a problem.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

But not the people trying to relax in there.

Wasps are rarely a nuisance during the summer unless you're sitting in their flight path out of the nest or flap around a lot when you see one in the garden - they're more interested in finding food for the young in the nest than bothering humans.0 -

Maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree there!
