I've just bought a gold coloured car! Is that too close to yellow?? Mind you the least of my concern when buying it was the colour. Anyway I was buying a second hand car so my choice was limited! But, when I've do my shopping at Tesco or Asda I'll have no trouble finding it in that sea of silver cars!!! soooo boring (no offence to silver car owners!!!!)

Silver cars - please, get a life, get some imagination, and for goodness sakes put your lights on when there's loads of spray !
Inca yellow - now there's a colour0 -
My DH stamped his foot when we got our car and said "I don't want silver it's boring!!" What colour does he end up buying?.............Mirage (blue under coat with metallic silver top) It still looks silver to anyone with half a brain (obviously not the DVLA who insist it's grey!)0

One reason I think there are a lot of silver cars is that it's a 'fleet' colour and often the only choice of metallic paint that you're allowed if offered a company car.
I quite like yellow cars - never quite understood why there are so few of them on the road considering it's a primary colour. Mind you, when I was an easily-embarrassed teenager my dad had a bright yellow Renault 12 (akin to a Lada). Everyone could see us coming a mile off... I'm sure I've suffered permanent psychological scarring.
What I don't understand are people paying all that extra money to get polychromatic paint... these cars appear to come equipped with free baseball caps, spoilers and a big-bass stereo without volume control. If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
I used to hate yellow cars, NOT because of the colour but because a year or so ago my daughter and her friends had this game when, the first one who spotted a yellow car would hit the other(s) on the arm. It became the case that whenever we were driving along, if she spotted a yellow she would hit me on the arm. Fun for her but no fun for me as although it didn't hurt much (I'm not trying to make out my daughter is a parent beater here!) it would annoy me enormously. I only made peace with the colour yellow when we devised a game with points: 1 point for a yellow car, 2 points for a Mini, 3 points for a yellow Mini and 5 points for a Smart Car. The things you do to keep the kids (sorry children) entertained!!! Fortunately, crazes never last long!"There is something about the presence of a cat...that seems to take the bite out of being alone.” Louis Camuti0
