Ebay seller ignoring me

Hi all, I purchased a good ebay bargain over a week ago and the item was apparently posted last Monday. The seller stated it was 2nd Class on the item and in description has stated that all parcels are sent registered and no collections allowed for security reasons. Anyway I've tried the supplied tracking number every single day and get the same outcome each time I track "The system is currently unable to confirm the status of your item with reference **** please try again later" it's been a week and usually 2nd class takes 2 days for me. I've tried messaging the seller and no response since last week, also opened a request for the item rather than refund, I want my bargain but starting to think it was too much of one. The seller has only sold a few items and 100% positive but mostly due to buying. On my request I stated I'd rather not leave negative feedback and work with them to come to a resolution....still no reply. I don't mind waiting if the seller posted later or had a genuine reason but to be completely ignored is unacceptable. I just keep hoping it arrives, does anyone know if registered post takes longer than normal 2nd class?

  • What do you mean by registered post?

Signed for? Special delivery? Something else?
  • I meant recorded, so I'm guessing it's just signature confirmation? Or just shows once delivered
  • Just open a non-receipt claim with eBay once the estimated delivery date has past.

If it was a bargain but the seller doesn't want to honour it then there isn't much you can do.

  • Thing is, the seller has sold 12 of this item. So everyone will more than likely have the same outcome. It was buy it now too
  • You’ll mean signed for. Recorded doesn’t exsist no more.

That is a signature confirmation yes, no tracking information.

However it should state what time and where it was posted so you know when that took place.

If the estimated delivery time has elapsed which I’m guessing it has as you say you have opened a case then that was probably the next logical step.

Bear in mind though I’ve had 2nd class items arrive in 2 days but also 4, 6 and 8 before.
  • Yes I'd have said signed for but seller said recorded for some reason? Yeah I'll wait it out, I'm pretty patient with post but mostly frustrated at the lack of response
  • I think people just say recorded as that’s what people know it as.

If it arrives in the meantime great.

If not, and their is no delivery confirmation, you’ll be refunded.
  • Also tracking literally just shows "The system is currently unable to confirm the status of your item" no other info about it being posted. I'll just have to hope it arrives tomorrow. I've only opened a request, can't open a case just yet.
  • If you can’t open a case yet then the estimated delivery date hasn’t passed.
  • Sounds like a Chinese far eastern seller lying over location and supplying a false tracking number.

I would file an INR at first available opportunity.
