Unresolved Claim - Looking for some advice

The roadside apology you have on video is irrelevant as far as liability is concerned
Any split liability will mean you both have a fault claim as a result of this
You would lose 2 years of your NCD
All claims do take months to resolve
You can get an idea now of what difference a fault claim will make to future premiums by doing dummy quotes online with and without the claim and loss of NCD in your history.
I've done a few dummy quotes, even using worst case scenario eg me at full fault and zero no claims
The insurance is cheaper annually with worst case scenario. Than my current years
This is what is confusing me the most.
All info is accurate, but still cheaper, this doesn't seem right Haha0 -
Sounds like you are currently overpaying!!
(You will have nil NCD if this claim is resolved as you being in any way to blame)0 -
Right, and...?Breakingplum wrote: »If said rule was followed, parking would be restricted to around half way down the entire length of the street, as the street itself is probably not more than 30ish metres long0 -
That's not a reason to ignore the rule though. As you've discovered, it's there for a reason.Breakingplum wrote: »If said rule was followed, parking would be restricted to around half way down the entire length of the street, as the street itself is probably not more than 30ish metres long0 -
OP the guys are sounding harsh but those are the rules and I know we all break them at times but c'est la guerre.
I had an accident a year ago which in my view wasn't my fault (yet I really knew it was at least partially) turning right at a T junction guy was indicating left and then changed his mind. I even had a witness, still went they way I thought it would sadly I was deemed 100% at fault because I pulled out when unsafe to do so.
As you did because you were too close to the corner.
You will need to suck it up.0 -

And it would mean I could get my lorry out of places or turn into places without having to make a half mile detour because of muppets parked right up to junctions. I've ended up being stuck in places for up to an hour in the past waiting for the !!!!!! who parked right up to the junction to come back so I can get out. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yeah that's what's been sitting with me 😓
I currently pay 750 for the year, I feel that fair (kinds) being I'm young and in a new car.
But with zero no ncb and a claim it takes it to 680 worh admiral
Strange Haha0 -
Fully understand the highway code guys but thank you for the reiteration
It is a residential street, with a weight limit set, no lorrys or certain sized vehicles allowed
Red lines outlining where you can and cant park
Right hand side of road, double red near turning
Left hand side no restriction.
I was on left hand side as were other vehicles.
Right hand side on red line no one was parked.
Much appreciated to all for your insights.
I'm here trying to get a further perspective of what I may be able to expect the outcome to be or what might be coming my way.....0 -
I suspect it will be shared blame, so you'll both end up with an accident on your record which you'll have to declare for 3-5 years. That will probably (but not definitely) mean your premiums will rise.0

Good-oh. So you know why you shouldn't have been parked there in the first place - although that has zero impact on the insurance settlement.Breakingplum wrote: »Fully understand the highway code guys
Red lines are no stopping. No waiting. Not even for loading and unloading. They say nothing about parking.Red lines outlining where you can and cant park
But, as you know from the HC, a lack of lines doesn't mean it's fair game if you would fall foul of the generic "no parking" rules.
You've already had it. It's very likely that you'll be found at least partially at fault. NCB dinged, "at fault" claim on your record.I'm here trying to get a further perspective of what I may be able to expect the outcome to be or what might be coming my way.....0
