If you are buying, please make sure it is the Audi warranty and not the one being sold by the dealership. Some dealers have their own warranties that may be with a third party company and maybe not as good as the genuine Audi's.

Check the T&Cs, some extended dealer warranties require you to use OE parts which can be substantially more expensive than equivalent quality aftermarket items. I've seen quotes of £1800 for discs and pads all round when quality aftermarket parts would cost £400 and a couple of hours labour to fit.

This can really bump up the cost of regular maintenance.

That is expensive. No doubt the dealer is getting a good cut. My recently purchased 2011 320i came with a one-year warranty provided by the dealer and I was able to purchase additional years for £200 per year. As with yours, it covers all components with a £250 excess and I took an extra three years.
