What makes it a bad laptop? What especially are you looking for? Does it have an SSD?0

Works good, but buying a machine for eldest.

SSD is a must nowadays, makes such an amazing difference. I have always gone cheap for laptops but my last one was a HP 250 with an i7 and 8GB of RAM and SSD drive. It is super fast, I love it. A bit over £450 on Amazon but worth the extra imo.

this is a better cpu, but check the specs yourself, though ideally you want an ssd. but those rust spinners do still work... slowly

Buy a laptop which already has the OS on an SSD don't faff about dismantling your new laptop.0

I am also confused.
Can you just clarify whether the pc is for you to use or for your eldest. If it's for your eldest then what do they want to do on the pc?0 -
I would look at the screen resolution - anything less than 1920x1080 (ie. full HD) is compromised.0
