Any tips for getting rid of these nuisances – they are popping up everywhere despite us trying to get rid of them last year – those roots go so deep!!

If native, then learn to love them. I can't get them to grow, so you're very lucky.

If spanish, I've tried everything. I just keep digging them up every year and gradually there are fewer of them.

What exactly is the problem with them? Round my way the woods are full of bluebells and people pay to visit some of the more picturesque, extensive ones.

Now if you were talking bindweed, or even cleavers......

Beautiful in woods yes - not in my borders where they pop up through other plants and spread like wildfire 🤬🤬

Deep roots? I thought they grew from bulbs....Dig up the bulbs, keep digging the bulbs, don't allow them to set seed, job done?
    Or am I missing something?

They do grow from bulbs, but bulbs do indeed have roots.

Bluebells won't grow from the roots alone, so if you remove all the white bulbs (they will range from tiny to around walnut sized), then the bluebells won't return.
