£15-£20k to invest

I have between £15 and £20k to invest. I don’t want a risky investment. I would like the flexibility to be able to withdraw occasionally for emergencies.
Absolutely no idea where to start. Please help.

Unfortunately "don't want a risky investment" doesn't narrow it down. There's risk to everything. If you put your money in the bank which possibly you would say is not "risky" there's the certain risk of losing out to inflation. If you picked what many would say is a "low risk" fund it could still drop 10 or 20 % in a recession. Would that cause you to go running for the hills?

I'd suggest that the reference to risk (which I'm choosing to interpret as risk of capital loss, despite the valid comment above about inflation risk) and the proposed use as an emergency fund would lead to keeping the money in cash savings rather than investments, so the best starting point would be the MSE How To Start Saving article.
