Composing e-mail problem, text is minuscule. How to increase size?

My wife and I use Thunderbird to compose and send e-mails. It normally works well. Since returning from a foreign trip at the weekend, my wife is finding it virtually impossible to compose e-mails on her HP laptop using W10. There is an extension called 'Theme Font & Size Changer for Thunderbird' that might solve your problem. It's available through the TB menu 'Add-ons'. It takes a bit of finding: you'll need to find the option to browse all add-ons then search for it by name.
