I only discovered the 'make an offer' yesterday on an item I had relisted and dropped the price a few times. Quite nicely the offer was the original starting price before I dropped it a few quid. I immediately accepted the offer and it is packaged ready for posting.
However on the downside I listed an item for 7 days worth about £10 listed at £2.99. I was offered £2 within an hour of the listing becoming live. I declined and said I wouldn't accept anything under £3 and it was worth at least £10 and if it didn't sell it didn't matter as I could relist it as there was no rush. Buyer came back within an hour offering £3. Can't be bothered to decline offer. Would rather let auction end. Is it wrong to not decline. Can they still bid.

I have been known to ignore best offers. Was offered half the BIN price so I ignored. They have now upped it by £1 on their second offer. Well that covers the postage then. Cant be bothered to decline this offer so they either cough up for the BIN or buy elsewhere.
Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed. ;)

As a buyer, it really annoys me when a seller doesn't bother responding to an Offer. It doesn't take a lot of effort to Decline (or Counter Offer).

On those occasions when I do end up eventually buying the item (perhaps as BIN), I always give 1 Star for Communications.

Thanks, more useful perspectives. Deethebee I think I will do as you suggest, decline but with that explanation. Unless anyone actually offers near the asking price of course, but that seems unlikely!

NO need to actively ignore offers if you make correct use of the 'Auto-decline below nnn' function, the hopeful buyer gets an automatic notification that their offer is too low.
