islandman, I have exactly the same thing with my Lenovo Tab3-8 and my Wileyfox phone. The phone is over 3 years old and the tablet less than 2 years old. Tablet has a larger screen and a less powerful O/s than the phone. We have no mast coverage here, but do have an EE Brightbox*, which connects to the router via Ethernet and actually gives us 4G via the box.

The tablet receives messages and data before the phone at home, but in a house with good mast coverage, the reverse is true. When I first considered all this, it could have stressed me out looking for a solution, but I just came to the same conclusion as tempus_fugit: "it's just the way it works." Between both devices, I don't miss any messages or data, so I stopped worrying, just as you have.

    Drifting off myself soon...:)

*EE don't supply these anymore: I was given mine by a very good mate, who changed providers.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

Yes, I'm " cool" with it now, couldn't care less. Too old to worry.

If I send a whatsapp message from my PC to my personal/ work mobiles the Android work phone gets it quicker than the iPhone. Same with an email sent from a Google account, gets to the Android phone quicker than the iPhone.

    I just live with it.
