O2: charged for unsent texts/subject access reuest to see usage
I'm on o2 1-2-3 as I'm a v low user. I drafted a text today and when I tried to send it (to BBC radio) I got a message saying I'd be charged at premium rate and did I still want to send it. It didn't say what premium rate meant. I didn't choose an option and navigated about a bit to see if I could find out anything about the rate but didn't find anything. The message was showing as 'not sent, tap to try again' so I did to see if the same message came up and it did. I left messages but then got a text from o2 to say my balance was £x. I always get these after a call or text but according to my phone the message still said it was not sent.
I chatted online to o2 and they said 2 messages were sent. How can that be?
Only 20p but it worried me I was being charged for services I'd not had and concerned me there was a big drop in my credit on the phone compared to what i'd imagined it would be, so I asked chat person to tell me if i' d made any expensive calls last month. They implied I'd used a lot of data (but I never use data, only free wifi) but said they couldn't tell me the details and the info wasn't available in my account and I'd have to make a 'subject access request' to o2 to get that information. That seem well OTT but I've had to do it
